Happy One Month

First off, HAPPY ONE MONTH BIRTHDAY TO JILLIAN!!!!

She is partying like a rock star right now doing the tummy time.  It doesn't look too fun but I assure you it is.  I seriously cannot believe she is already one month old. It's amazing how much life changes in just one month.  Wow.

So I dipped out on my C25K on Monday. I'm a bum. By the time Hubs got done with work on Monday it was later than I wanted to go out, and we had plans for a fun filled evening - bath time for Jillian, Mexican meatloaf and American Idol (we are like five episodes behind) - so I made the executive decision to skip on Monday. But I wasn't a total bum on Monday, I did Pilates DVD that wasn't really Pilates. It was more exercises with a resistance band, but it did the trick.  That works.

And then on Tuesday I was THIS close to skipping my run again, because Jillian decided to party all night Monday night which left me super duper tired on Tuesday. But I thought better of it and instead put my workout clothes on in the afternoon so that I would be ready to run out the door once Hubs was done with work. That worked!  And I am sooo glad I went. It pepped me up and just made me feel good. Day 1 of Week 2 went really well!! I'll be doing Day 2 today at the gym on the treadmill (eek).

Can we back up to American Idol for a minute? I honestly did not want to watch it this season. I'm totally not a fan of Nicki Minaj or Mariah Carey so I wasn't too excited about this season. But I must say I am pleasantly surprised. I actually enjoy Nicki as a judge. And the talent is amazing this year! I cry at least once or twice per episode because of a person with an amazing story and an amazing voice. Really, it's so good this year!!

OK, on that note, I am out of here.  I hope you're having a wonderful Wednesday!

Questions for you ...
- Are you watching Idol this season?
- How do you get motivated to exercise?

  1. I don't watch Idol. I don't watch the Voice or any other reality TV except Dance Moms.
Exercise motivation is easy: always shoot for a smaller pair of pants, schedule a race to train for, or get away from the stressors in your life. I really enjoy diving into a good book while on the elliptical or having a great run. The first 15-20 min of every run is tough but after that I get into a groove. When I don't think I want to run, I remember how good the run feels, and how I can just listen to the music and just be somewhere else. Then before I know it, i'm done.
