Don’t you feel like you just need one more day to recover from your 3-day Labor Day weekend? I sure do.
|Jillian says Happy Labor Day!|
We had a great weekend. We were barely home the whole weekend, which is good because we spend way too many weekends bolted to the couch without leaving the house at all, so it was good to be out and about. My mission: to find a new mattress. Labor Day weekend is the Black Friday for mattress sales, so we thought it was a good weekend to look.
On Saturday we went and layed on 20 something mattresses and thought we found what we wanted. Then on Sunday, after we slept on it (ha, pun intended), we actually pulled the trigger and made the purchase. I even haggled a little bit and got an extra $200 off and free delivery. I never knew that buying a mattress was like buying a car. I feel so adult now that we’ve made this massive purchase (seriously, mattresses are ridiculously expensive). And we upgraded from a queen to a king, so of course that came with an added cost since we had to buy new sheets, mattress cover, pillows, etc. Needless to say, it was an expensive weekend. But I’m super excited about our new mattress being delivered today.
Aside from all of the shopping this weekend, we also spent time with family and I got crafty by re-upholstering our kitchen chairs - look how pretty!

And we spent a marathon day at Disney yesterday. Labor Day, again, did not disappoint. Seriously, if you’re ever wondering when the best time to vacation at Disney is, it’s Labor Day Monday. The parks are so empty, it’s heavenly.
We started at Magic Kingdom where Jillian got to ride the new Little Mermaid ride, the Winnie the Pooh ride, and her favorite, It’s a Small World. Then we went over to Epcot and met up with some friends and walked around the world and rode the Little Nemo ride. She had a blast, but man was it hot outside. Holy cow. There wasn’t one part of me that wasn’t soaking wet with sweat (sorry, gross). I cannot wait until it gets even just a little bit cooler, because it’s so hot right now.
So I did a bunch this weekend. But one thing I didn’t do - workout, run, do anything exercise worthy (although I did walk 19,000 steps yesterday, so that’s something). I’m really getting mad at myself for this. I was on such a roll for a while with my training and whatnot and now this. I just have no motivation to get up and get out the door, it’s really troubling. I’m not worried too much about the race, I’ve done half marathons with less training - they weren’t pretty, but I got them done - so I know I can pull out the 10 miler, but it won’t be pretty and I really would like my first race after my hiatus to be a good one.
So that’s my goal this week - to find the motivation to get back to it! Gotta do it.
Alright, I hear the baby, so I need to get. Hope you all had a wonderful Labor Day weekend!
